This section examines how you should surf the Internet in a safe manner, i.e. carry out online banking, online shopping, protect your privacy, protect your identity, etc.

The Internet is such a useful tool that most of us cannot image not using it. However, we may not realise that there are a large number of dis-honest people (including criminal gangs) who use the Internet to commit various crimes, confidence tricks, frauds, etc. They exploit the fact that the person they are conning many not see or hear them and is probably in another country making the prosecution of this people very difficult.

So in the following pages we are going to examine what you can do to protect yourself online and hopefully reduce the risk of falling victim to a fraud, identity theft, etc.
